Happy New Year fellow homecoming mum professionals! The start of the new year means homecoming season will be here before we know it. For those of you seasoned veterans, you know a successful homecoming mum season is all about PREP, PREP and well, more PREP - now is the time to start. Our goal for this blog is to help you have a successful season by providing tips and tricks to grow your business - and maybe get a little sleep during the season.

Our Story: Discovering the Inspiration Behind Our Business
Our story began the same as many homecoming mum business owners - making homecoming mums and garters for our kids. We fell in love with the glitter, ribbons, braids and being creative together to make mums and garters that best fit our own kid's personalities. But as they all do, kids grow up graduate and that meant no more homecoming mums. Between the two of us, we now only have one personal homeoming mum to make each year - crazy how time flies! But.....we still had friends and family asking us to help them make homecoming mums for their kids so in 2021 we started RG Mums together. We tell more about our story on our first livestream on our YouTube channel.
At the end of the 2021 season, we joined Mums-Inc, a group of homecoming mum professionals founded on the principles of sharing professional growth within the homecoming mum industry, and it was the best thing we ever did for our business. Mark your calendars for November 1, 2024. Registration opens each year at the end of homecoming season. We never dreamed how our business would take off and now we make and prep homecoming mums year round - after only 3 seasons of opening RG Mums! To say it was easy would be a lie - many sleepless nights during homecoming season and many wishes we had prepped better. But...we have grown and become more and more efficient all the time, learning every day. We hope to pass some of this knowledge on to other mum professionals. If you are looking to learn many of the homecoming braid names and how to make each one make sure to bookmark or pin our braids page as we will be creating tutorials throught the prep season and posting the links there.
